School Development Fund

As times change, the need for schools to provide diverse learning opportunities for students continues to grow. To offer more comprehensive facilities and optimize our learning environment, our school is establishing the School Development Fund. We are seeking to raise funds from our sponsoring body (Shun Tak Fraternal Association), parents, and alumni to improve our campus environment and equipment. The support and contributions of our alumni are the primary driving force behind our continuous progress. Today, with feelings of gratitude and anticipation, we wish to introduce several key development projects and sincerely invite you to play a role in shaping our alma mater's future.

Enhancing Facilities for Student Well-being

One of the priority projects for the Fund is the optimization of the school’s outdoor swimming pool. This includes converting the current outdoor pool into a heated facility, installing water heaters in the changing room showers, and renovating the changing facilities. Upon completion, students will be able to enjoy swimming and participate in structured training regardless of the weather or season. This will not only improve their physical fitness but also enhance their mental well-being. Furthermore, a modernized swimming facility will strengthen the school’s overall competitiveness and reputation, attracting more families who value a holistic health education.

Advancing Technology and Campus Infrastructure

To keep pace with rapid developments in information technology, we plan to upgrade the computer facilities for all staff. This involves purchasing new hardware and software, as well as additional tablets, to elevate the integration of IT in teaching and learning. Our goal is to meet the demands of 21st-century secondary education and nurture future-ready talent.

Additionally, the school is exploring the transformation of the Yung Yau Gymnasium into a modern indoor sports centre. Proposed upgrades include air conditioning, glass partitions, a professional sound system, and a small stage to provide a venue for student performances. These changes will also improve the comfort of the school canteen, creating a more welcoming, "home-like" atmosphere. Other smaller-scale projects include the establishment of a Geography and History Room, a Chinese Culture Gallery, and a School History Gallery. Our vision is to transform STFA Lee Shau Kee College into an institution that seamlessly integrates modern technology with traditional culture, nurturing generations of pillars of society.

Navigating Financial Challenges

However, we face significant fiscal headwinds. The Education Bureau has implemented a reduction in the Expanded Operating Expenses Block Grant (EOEBG) starting from the 2025-2026 academic year. This trend of decreasing subsidies is expected to continue over the next three to four years. To meet these financial challenges, the school must proactively seek new revenue sources and practice prudent budgeting.

Therefore, we earnestly hope that our parents and alumni will support these development plans through donations. Our goal is to raise sufficient funds to ensure the smooth commencement and completion of these vital renovation projects.

A Shared Vision for the Future

We believe these improvements will create a superior environment for our students to learn and excel, becoming a new highlight of our campus. We invite you to join us in this endeavor, contributing to the well-being of current students and future alumni alike. Let us work together to lay a solid foundation for our students’ healthy growth and all-round development.

Thank you for your continued support and attention. We look forward to your positive response and participation!

Yours faithfully,

Dr. Yeung Man Tak
